Derby had most of the play: QPR were down to 10 men from the first half but the Rams still could not get that goal. They were tired men. Frustration is tiring.
Harry Redknapp, QPR manager, seemed to gamble on getting to the penalty shoot-out as his best chance of a win by bringing on two forwards as substitutes in good time. One of them was Bobby Zamora who scored in good time. The 89th minute.
David and Peter: our regrets that Derby failed to get promoted. On the plus side: you can remain more objective about your choices for your squad next season.
QPR joins Leicester and Burnley in promotion to the Premier League for 2014-15.
